iPhone 5 vs iPhone 4, is it worth the wait?

The iPhone continuously gets sized up against HTC, Galaxy, and Samsung, but some of its stiffest competition is actually its own predecessor. Many Apple fans are asking themselves, should I opt for the iPhone 4 or should I wait for the iPhone 5? With rumors abounding, it can be tough to decide which of the features are going to end up on the final version of the iPhone 5 and if it will be worth the wait. Here is some of the data that will hopefully allow customers to make that final decision of patience or immediate purchase.

With the late September/early October  iPhone 5 release date rapidly approaching, it is probually time to start discussing the upgrades from the iPhone 4 to the iPhone 5.

The first thing that any owner will notice is a very similar physical design of the iPhone 5.

Apple has repeatedly stated that they liked the layout of the iPhone 4 and will most likely be sticking with it for some time. The only major qualm with the iPhone 4 body has been the glass back that has become notoriously prone breaking, a feature which manufacturers will try to remedy.

Much of the software will remain the same between these two phones as well. While the iPhone 5 will come standard with iOS 5, iPhone 4 owners have been given the option to upgrade their smartphones to iOS 5 as well.

The same can be said for Apple’s wireless syncing tool, iCloud. iCloud has had a limited beta release for the iPad 2 and iPhone 4, and will also be offered with a full release on the iPhone 5.

With the similarities out of the way, potential owners are asking what new features will be offered and should I wait for iPhone 5.

The A5 processors is going to be the most enticing addition to the iPhone 5. It offers dramatically better processing, storage, and multitasking abilities. The other name of the game is high-definition. There is a likelihood that the iPhone 5 specs will be boasting an improved HD screen, camera, and even an HDMI output. This would put it in direct competition with some of Android’s top smartphones such as the Thunderbolt and Atrix.

If Apple fans are looking for a new look and feel to the iPhone 5, they may be somewhat disappointed. For those that are looking for a better display, user interface, cameras, and processing power, then the iPhone 5 is sure to deliver.
