iPhone 5 features and specifications

iPhone 5 features and specificationsThe highly anticipated iPhone 5, which is slated for a release date of late in October, has been the focus of many rumors and speculations.

As usual, Apple knows how to get people talking, as they have kept silent on the subject. In the meantime, everyone and their mother have been wondering about the features of the iPhone 5. A few of the iPhone 5 features have been widely discussed and thought to be “confirmed,” yet there are others that are not so definite.

One of the iPhone 5 features that consumers can expect is an 8-megapixel dual flash camera.

This is an upgrade from the iPhone 4, which had a 5-megapixel camera that doesn’t have the best focus feature. Dual flash will lead to better light quality in your photos, and since Android phones already boast this feature, Apple is going down the right path.

Another of the iPhone 5 features that is known are the main carriers. AT&T and Verizon Wireless will indeed get the iPhone 5, but Sprint is also being said to be carrying the flagship Apple smartphone. T-Mobile may also get it, although with the Department of Justice recently filing a suit to block the AT&T/T-Mobile merger, this remains up in the air.

Many consumers feel that one of the most important features of the iPhone 5 is its screen size.

While the iPhone 4 came with a 3.5 inch screen, it is believed that the iPhone 5 will have one that is slightly larger, that will range between 3.7 and 4 inches.

Near field communication, or NFC, is another rumor that is thought by some as being one of the features of the iPhone 5. Many Android phones already have this, and in a nutshell, it is a technology that enables a user to incorporate their credit or debit card information directly into their smartphone. This in turn allows the person to make purchases at various stores with a simple swipe of their phone. While certainly a convenient feature, it remains to be seen if this will actually be included in Apple’s newest smartphone.

The iPhone 5 will be equipped with 64GB of internal storage. This feature is quite a jump from the 16GB and 32GB storage increments found in the iPhone 4. Additionally, it is being rumored there might even be 128GB options for the new iPhone 5.
